Version 1.3.1 of the Global Tax Expenditures Database (GTED) has been released with expanded coverage and enhanced functionality. The update incorporates two additional countries, Egypt and Zambia, bringing the total to 111 reporting jurisdictions, representing over 50% of global jurisdictions. Data has been updated for 82 countries, adding 162 new country-year revenue forgone data points to the GTED panel. The database now includes all tax expenditure reports published by governments in 2023 and more than half of those published in 2024.
The website has also been improved with new features allowing users to view, sort, and search disaggregated country information on country profiles, and to perform keyword searches for specific provisions across the entire database. These enhancements aim to improve data accessibility and usability. The GTED continues to be updated, with remaining countries and their latest reports scheduled to be added to the GTED in the coming months.
