The seventh virtual CoP meeting, organised in cooperation with the ATI Community of Interest on Tax Gap, will focus on tax gap analysis with a focus on the use of TE data. The upcoming session will have the following inputs:
- Patricio Barra (Fiscal Affairs Department, IMF) and Polina Prokofyeva (Economic Researcher, International Finance Corporation) will present the IMF’s Technical Guidance Note on the Reverse Method, illustrating how the Global Tax Expenditure Database (GTED) can be used to estimate the policy gap.
- Marie Goppelsroeder (DG TAXUD, European Commission) will share insights from the Commission’s “Mind the Gap” report, focusing on the role of the several thousand tax expenditure provisions across the 27 EU Member States.
